SILKEN LAUMANN JOINS STEVE NASH AS SUPPORTERS OF MULTISPORT CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOUNDATION

VANCOUVER - Former Olympic rowing star Silken Laumann of Victoria, one of Canada's most accomplished and recognized female athletes, has joined the Athlete Advisory Board of the MultiSport Centre of Excellence Foundation.

Laumann joins two-time National Basketball Association most valuable player Steve Nash, a native of Victoria who plays as the star point guard for the Phoenix Suns and is a co-owner of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC of Major League Soccer, on the athlete advisory board of the Foundation that is building a $54 million flagship athlete development centre in the Central Valley sports complex in the City of Burnaby, one that is projected to open in early 2012.
